Our Mission

Our academy mission is:  to deliver an inclusive, forward-thinking education which ensures young people are as well prepared as possible for their next steps beyond school and into adulthood.

We achieve this through our vision and values which are woven through the heart of our academy and upheld by all our staff.

Our Vision

Kickstart is committed to creating an environment where exemplary attitudes, behaviour and pastoral care are at the heart of productive learning. Our partnership approach aims to build community cohesion and positive relationships within the academy, the local area and alternative provisions.

We work hard to ensure our young people are empowered to make a positive contribution to the diverse communities they are part of and do this through the promotion of our whole academy expectations, which guide all our work within our academy:

  • To create a safe and nurturing environment where young people can rebuild trust and feel secure.   
  • To empower all young people to develop the skills, confidence and behaviours to thrive in a rapidly changing world. 
  • To work collaboratively with families and stakeholders in the community to improve outcomes for young people.

Underpinning our relational and inclusive practice are Kickstart Academy’s operationalised values:  

  • Honesty – telling the truth, even if it’s difficult.  
  • Doing the right thing – consistently choosing to act in line with school policies and ethical or moral expectations, even if it goes unnoticed.  
  • Growth mindset- adopting behaviours, such as self-reflection or avoiding blame, that demonstrate our belief in our ability to improve through sustained effort, openness to feedback, and a willingness to learn from challenges and mistakes.
