Pupil council and champions
Student council
Our Student Council is a committed group that has been elected by their peers. They act as representatives and a voice for their classmates in bringing forward and discussing academy issues as well as raising money for both our academy and selected charities.
The council meet regularly and discuss issues such as:
- Academy lunches
- Improving the toilet facilities
- Ways to improve attendance
- Academy Environment
- Student Extra-Curricular Activities
Our Student Council members are passionate about supporting our academy and the wider community and we are very proud of them.
Sports Leaders
Our Sports Leaders are a group of individuals who have a keen interest in PE and academy sports. They are passionate about improving the sporting experience of every student in the academy. Each tutor group has 1 representative whereby it is their job to feedback any information from our meetings to the rest of their class.
These students meet regularly with our sports teacher leads and some of their main responsibilities are:
- Relaying results from sporting fixtures and tournaments in assemblies
- Suggesting tournaments, we would like to take part in
- Promoting PE and Academy Sport within our academy
- Helping during events and Sports Days
Our Sports Leaders are dedicated to their role, and we are proud of all the work they put into improving PE and Sport within our academy.
Wellbeing Ambassadors
Our Wellbeing Ambassadors are a devoted team of students who look after the mental wellbeing of the students at Kickstart.
They meet with teachers to discuss ways in which they can support the children emotionally. The responsibilities of the Wellbeing Ambassadors are:
- To attend meetings to discuss what is working and to suggest improvements
- To listen to other students who need to talk, to offer help and advice where appropriate
- To know when to get adult help and to support students to access it
We are proud of the work our Wellbeing Ambassadors do and appreciate how it helps our students here at Kickstart Academy.
